We spend a lot of money on food, but surveys show that we throw a quarter of all food away. This corresponds to having a visitor who never touches the food you serve staying with you every three days. On average, 135 kg of food is thrown away per person per year. So a family of five wastes 675 kg of food. That is literally the equivalent of around 3 tons of CO2 emissions, the equivalent of the emissions generated by a family car every year. This is tough on the economy and has huge environmental consequences.

Look after your food – save money and be kind to the environment!
